What is votoso?

The Public votoso site is a different kind of email service. The biggest difference is that you don't need to sign up. Any email name you can think of already exists votoso.com and you can use any of them. Want BrianTheSkink votoso.com? You got it. Want PrettyMothra? ScaryGavyn? No problem. Those and any other mailboxes you think of votoso.com are created when email arrives! Really. Other differences of the Public votoso system include:

  • All Emails automatically delete after a few hours
  • You cannot SEND from votoso - it is a receive-only service
  • All email is public. Really - very very public. All Email is readable by anyone and no one "owns" an inbox or emails.

Subscription plans exist where you or your team can have your own private Votoso (using your own domain). Just like the public Votoso you can send to and receive email at any inbox in the entire domain. Millions of inboxes at your fingertips. Additionally, you can access those emails via API or an enhanced Web UI that allows you to see the entire domains (every inbox or a wildcard subset!) in one User Interface. See our Pricing page to Request a Free Trial.

See more FAQ questions below about Team Inboxes and Private Domains.

First of all - know that you don't need to. You can access any email in any public inbox without signing up. Just type in the inbox name and go! If you choose to sign-up, you'll get your own Personal Inbox where you can save emails for later (remember, they otherwise auto-delete). You can also save your favorite Votoso inboxes in a list so when you come back later they're just a click away.

Upgraded plans get API access to all public inboxes and emails. Also, some plans get a private domain and a corresponding "Team Inbox" where you or anyone on your team can view your entire domain's worth of email (again, you must own your own domain and point it at Votoso

For the public site - there really is no privacy. Don't expect any. For private domains, all email and credentials are stored privately and secured. Please see our Official Privacy Policy for more details.

Some websites simply won't let you sign-up unless you consent to letting them spam you thereafter. As part of this, they might disallow email addresses like Votoso.com. To give you further avenues to protect your privacy, Votoso has many other domains that also point to Votoso. Emailing any of those is just the same (as far as Votoso is concerned) as emailing Votoso itself. Check the front-page for some of the alternate domains.

The public Votoso system is a unique email system in that there are no password, no sign-up required, and no privacy. Anyone can read any email at all.

Wouldn't it be nice to have your own PRIVATE Votoso?

  • Your domain.
  • Every possible inbox.
  • Private to you.

With other goodies such as private storage, our unique Team Inbox interface, and API access!

Yes.

Yes, you can set a custom private domain. You must own this domain (e.g. xerox-qa-team.com). Follow the instructions on the settings page to point the MX record of your domain to the Votoso servers. Again, all email sent to the private domain is readable only by your team.

Votoso upgrade plan's give you access to the Private Domain feature. Check out our Pricing page now to signup for a free trial and get going!
